About Hardy Brake
Hardy Brake and Electric Co. is a small family owned corporation based out of Evansville IN. The business was founded by Alfred E. Hardy in a small frame garage behind his home. In 1950, Alfred realized his dream when he formally opened the doors of his growing business in a new building housing O.E.M. quality aftermarket parts, an area that became a strong aspect of Hardy Brake when Alfred's sales representatives began calling on customers in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.

While Hardy Brake continued to service the automotive, industrial and farming communities, the need to expand into new markets became clear. Alfred then expanded the business by opening Midwest Brake and Electric. Inc, a partnership with his brother-in-law Albert Byrne, in Indianapolis Indiana in 1958. 1965, Alfred's son-in-law Robert Kerney joined him at the Evansville store. In 1966, seeing the need to concentrate on the service parts industry they closed the service garage and focused on replacement
truck parts. Rebuilding heavy duty truck parts continues to be a strong component of Hardy Brake to this day.

In time, Alfred decided to step aside. He and Albert Byrne sold Midwest Brake and Electric in Indianapolis. A short time later, Robert Kerney purchased HardyBrake. Robert continued to expand the business by opening another location in Owensboro Ky in 1984 and B.C. Auto Electric Truck Parts in Terre Haute Indiana in 1991. In February of 1999, having outgrown their original building, Hardy Brake opened it's doors at a larger, newer facility to better serve it's customers.

In 2010 Hardy Brake and Electric Co. celebrated 60 years of quality service to it's customers.
